Yes!! I made it through the semester!! What a great experience!
Second rotation:
I loved my second rotation placement. I was in a Kindergarten class with Mrs. Paul. I was a little nervous coming from a fourth grade class which I loved. I always thought I would want to teach Kindergarten but I fell in love with my fourth graders. I knew it was going to be a completely different experience. The first day with the Kindergartners was very intimidating. It was a completely different experience and classroom. The children were so young and still seemed like babies to me. As the days passed I started to realize how much I was falling in love with these sweet little children. I had to change the teaching style I had become accustomed to. It was not to difficult for me to adapt, just a little scary. I ended up having a great semster with the Knidergartners and learned so much from them.
Semester as a whole:
I enjoyed the Quest 2 experience so much. I met some great friends that I will keep in touch with the rest of my life. I also learned so much from being in the classroom. I can not imagine going into a classroom without having been in the classroom yet. I got to experience Fourth grade and Kindergarten. They were both such a different experience. Of course, I fell in love with all of my students. I learned teaching strategies that can not be taught in our courses. It was great having the personal field experience and doing hands on activities with the students.
Growth as a Teacher:
I will continue to use all of the teaching strategies that I learned from Quest 2 in my own classroom. I will continue to keep in touch with my PLC group to talk with them about their experiences and collaborate our ideas. I am going to go into all of challenges with an open mind and continue the growth of my education.
Professional Attributes:
I learned so much over the years about professional attributes. I actually was not so sure about these attributes when I first started the program, but now they all make sense. I will continue to carry myself professionally using all of these attributes for the rest of my career.
Thank you Quest 2!!!

After Video Edit Blog
Yeah!! I finally finished editing my video! I did have a few problems before I could blog. Well... the problems with the camera situation I talked about in my last blog did cause some problems. My teacher had a hard time emailing me the video because the file was to big. Finally we figured out how to get the file and everything was fine. I edited my video on Windows Movie Maker. The program is pretty easy and pretty self explanatory. All of my video clips totaled about 20 minutes, so it was not to bad cutting it down to 5 minutes. I had a hard time deciding what parts to cut out because I thought my entire lesson seemed important. I did get the video edited and I was very happy to get it out of my hands and get it turned in. One of my last assignments of the semester and it felt great!

After Lesson Blog
I have been waking up in the middle of the night for the past three weeks thinking about all of the assignments I have to turn in before the semester is over and I realized I did not blog about my after lesson thoughts. So, I got out of bed to blog about my after lesson feelings. I am a little late with this blog because I did this lesson a week ago. But, after I realized that I forgot to blog... I could not go back to sleep. So, here it goes...
My lesson went ok. I was very nervous to start because I was being observed and it was my video lesson. I cleared my camera and thought I had plenty of room to record plenty of spots of my lesson. But, half way through my lesson my camera was full. So when I was told my camera was full and could not record anymore that really distracted me. I kept on going with my lesson and thought to myself that things happen. It was at that point that I felt like a real teacher. I have been told by my teachers that nothing ever goes the way you plan it, but you have to be able to adjust. I knew in the back of my head that I needed to video the closing of my lesson, but I did not want to take away my thought and my attention to the students. My closing did get taped with another camera, but I feel like I did a good job by not getting to off track. I have not looked at my video or edited yet. I might think completly different once I see it. For now I think I did okay.

Post Blog for Lesson # 2/ Teaching Inquiry #3
I will be teaching my 2nd observed lesson tomorrow. I feel a little nervous because this is my videotaped lesson. So just knowing that I am going to be videotaped makes me feel a little more anxious. I am prepared and I do think my lesson is going to be very engaging for the students.
I am going to be teaching a shared reading lesson. We will be learning a new reading strategy called text to self connection. I have introduced this reading strategy to the the students already but they have not really practiced it. I am very excited to work with the students on this strategy because I think it will be fun and exciting.
One of the main things that I am wondering about is classroom management. My teacher told me to keep my lesson to around 25 minutes. She has told me if I go any longer than that i will lose the focus of the students. My last rotation, my lessons were at least 45 minutes. So, this is going to be a challenge. I have never taught a full lesson to Kindergarten, so I hope I can keep them focused and engaged.

Mid Semester Blog
The semester is half way through and I have no idea where the time went. I have been so incredibly busy. I am just taking week by week and trying to keep my head above water.
I have learned a great deal so far in Quest 2. I will say my time management skill have improved greatly. I did not really have a choice but to improve or I would not have been able to keep up with this semester. I also have learned a great deal from my SBTE. I went into this program having my mind set on teaching Kindergarten, but I really enjoyed Fourth grade the past six weeks. I am actually quite surprise how much I like the Fourth grade level. I am really happy that I chose to do to different grade levels. I feel like I am getting the best of both worlds.
The biggest challenge for me the past six weeks has been dealing with my mom getting sick. my mother went into the hospital and ICU for two weeks. It was a very difficult time for myself and my family. I have been trying to keep up with school, but also taking care of my family. i have been alble to focus more on school recently because my mm is now out of the hospital and back at home. I finally got mysef all caught up (thanks to reflection week).
My goals for the rest of the semester are to get the most out of the last six weeks that I am with the kindergarteners. I also want to help nurse my mom back to health.

Beginning Teacher Blog
I am feeling very anxious for the beginning of the Fall semester. I have been preparing for this semester for a few weeks, making sure I am prepared for the tasks ahead of me. I have always been a patient person in all aspects of my life. I plan putting my patience skills to work this semester. I am also looking forward to working with my peers and my SBTE. I hope to plan fun and interactive activities for my students. I am a very responsible person and hardly ever have problems running late. I am a morning person and I am usually ready to go very early.
I think the one part of this semester that I am concerned with is the technology assignments that are due. I have not looked at my portfolio page since I had the technology class the first semester of Education courses. I did not understand the portfolio assignments then. I hope not to have to many problems with the tecnology assignments because i don't think I will have much time to spend on them.
